The Brand-New Volkswagen T-Roc R
What happens when you want a practical SUV but a sporty performance car? The simple answer, you don’t… Until now – The Volkswagen T-Roc R is here!
Recently launched was the 2019 SEAT Cupra Ateca which starts from £36,110 when bought new which opens the market up to many more potential buyers at a reasonable price.
However, what if you want something from Volkswagen? Look no further because announced earlier this year was the 2020 Volkswagen T-Roc R.
Equipped with the same engine which is found in the VW Golf R, the T-Roc has a 2.0 TSI 300bhp and is capable of 0-60 in a brisk 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph.
The R model comes with some of the following enhancements:
- four-wheel drive
- R Specific Sports Suspension
- R version brake calipers
- R-Line styling pack
What Is The T-Roc?
The Volkswagen T-Roc was launched last year with two petrol variants. The 1.0 TSI producing 115bhp and a 1.5 TSi producing 150bhp. They also have two diesel versions. The 1.6 TDi 115ps and a 2.0 TDi 150ps. Our choice would probably be the 1.6 diesel as it’s economical, provides good torque and is usually the best value for money when leasing.
The T-Roc was originally built on the same platform as the popular Golf, albeit slightly raised to give it a command driving position.
